She was born Feb. 13, 1936, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Benjamin S. Lindsey, Jr. and Alice Veta (Allen) Lindsey.
She formerly worked in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis and in home health care in Florida. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Vicksburg, a graduate of North Central High School, attended Terre Haute Commercial College, was past Royal Matron of Terre Haute Court 25 Order of the Amaranth, and was very into the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include two sisters, Sharon (Jim) Lucas of Brownsburg and Ivy Lindsey of Indianapolis, a sister-in-law, Margaret "Peg" Lindsey of Linton, nieces and nephews, Linda Marie Lindsey of Terre Haute, Cheryl (Tony) Kuritz of Indianapolis, Shannon (Sabrina) Lindsey of Linton, Melissa (Ron) Shoemaker of Brownsburg, Hillary (Andrew) Hildebrand of Brownsburg, and Lindsay (John) Crow of California, an aunt and uncle, Richard and Doris Lindsey of Florida, and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Karl Anderson, and a brother, Robert A. Lindsey.
There will be a memorial graveside service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Hull Cemetery in Vigo County with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating. There will also be an Order of the Amaranth Service at the graveside. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
