Thank you for helping celebrate

To the Editor:

I would like to say thank you to everyone who joined me in celebrating my 95th Birthday at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield this past Sunday. It was so much fun and uplifting to share time with those who traveled and spent their afternoon wishing me happy birthday. Thank you to everyone who visited and to my friends and family that prepared the delicious cake and food. I have lived in Greene County my whole life. Over the past 95 years, I have had the opportunity to observe so many changes in our county and our country. But, one thing never changes, and that is the value of friends and loved ones. Everyone who shared part of their day with me, or sent me a card or gift because they were unable to visit, has shown me just how much love and friendship there is in Greene County and from friends in other states. I will read and reread all my cards. Again, thank you for making this a special day and giving me many more wonderful memories.
