Lady Wolverines win opener

White River Valley jumped out to a 16-point halftime lead and cruised to a 36-24 victory over North Central in a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Switz City.

It was the season-opener for both teams.

The Lady Wolverines led 28-12 at intermission and still won by double figures despite only making two baskets and scoring eight points in the second half.

Maddy Dyer was high-point scorer for WRV, finishing with nine points.

Amy Ragle hit two 3-pointers and finished with six points, the same as Allison Wininger.

WRV won the junior varsity game 32-8 as Lexi Graves led the way with 12 points.

Also for the Lady Wolverines, Ragle and Ashley Hooks each scored five points, Briauna George-Fisher had four and Brittani George-Fisher, Miranda Pierce and Rachel Woods all added two points.

Jasmine Padgett and Lilly Hancock also played.

Since WRV's Saturday game with Bloomington North was moved to Dec. 6, the Lady Wolverines will be off until Tuesday when they play at West Vigo.
