Stremmings to celebrate 67th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Orvel L. Stremming of rural Sandborn will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 24 with a card shower.

They were married Nov. 24, 1945 at Westphalia Salem Evangelical Church by Preacher John Overbeck. Their attendants were their mothers: Mrs. Mearl (Golda) Clifford and Mrs. Ed (Pearl) Stremming.

Mrs. Orvel Stremming is the former Virginia M. Clifford of Freelandville. She is a homemaker and helped raise their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Stremming is retired after 30 years from General Electric in Linton. He also farmed with his wife's help. They worked together building their own home.

They are members of Parkview Christian Church at Plainville, and members of Newberry Eastern Star. He is a member of Switz City Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, American Legion, York Rite, Sheriff's Association, and VFW. He is a WWII veteran.

Their parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Mearl Clifford of Freelandville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stremming of Westphalia.

They had three children. Their son Mearl Stremming passed away in 2008. Their daughters are: Charlene Stremming of near Sandborn, and Marlene (Robert) Mattingly of near Plainville. Their daughter-in-law is Linda Stremming of New Mexico.

They have four grandchildren: Iris Overman of Bloomfield, Ilene Casner and Lee Stremming of Linton and Ginny Gayso of New Mexico. They have nine great grandchildren: Michael L. and Brayden Stremming, Mrs. LeeAnna Harris, Mrs. Lindsay Bobo, Daniel and Dylan Casner, Eric and Blaine Gayso and Katelin Norris. They have one great great grandchild: Nichola Harris.
