* Nov. 11 ---- Rickey Lee Whipple, 45, of Cleveland, Ohio, was arrested by the Linton Police Department on a preliminary charge of public intoxication. He was released after posting $500 bond. Court date set for Nov. 16.

* Nov. 12 ---- Kathleen A. Preece, 28, of rural Bloomfield, was arrested on a warrant by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on charges of two counts of possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV controlled substance; unlawful possession of a legend drug or a precursor; and possession of paraphernalia. No bond set pending a court appearance.

* Nov. 12 ---- Dustin L. Brashier, 30, of Sullivan, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department, on preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance; and driving while suspended with a prior conviction. No bond set pending a court appearance.



The Linton Police Department's activity log for Nov. 9-11 included: One follow-up investigation; two fights; two juvenile/delinquent cases; one report of vandalism; two custody disputes/exchanges; one criminal mischief case; one civil complaint; one public intoxication case; one brush fire; two personal injury traffic accidents; one property damage traffic accident; three suicides/attempts; one animal complaint; one prowler report; three suspicious vehicles/persons; two harassment complaints; two reckless drivers; two theft cases; one bicycle theft; one domestic dispute; and nine traffic stops.

* Nov. 9 -- LPD officers were dispatched to Bob Walters Motors about 11:25 p.m. after a male allegedly threw an object at one of the vehicles on the car lot. When LPD officer Michael Watts and LPD Reserve Officer Rodney Bredeweg arrived at the State Road 54W location, they observed Rickey Lee Whipple, 45, of Cleveland, Ohio, allegedly stumbling in the middle of the highway -- west of Price Road. The officers observed Whipple almost fall several times while oncoming traffic was approaching. Whipple later failed three field sobriety tests and registered .171 percent alcohol on a portable breathalyzer test. The legal limit for intoxication is .08 percent. He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Greene County Sheriff's Department, where he was released after posting 10 percent of a $500 bond. His court date was set for Nov. 16.
