Gary "Pud" Griffith, 76, of Lewis, passed away on Nov. 23, 2012 with his family by his side.
Pud was born on April 29, 1936 the son of Courtney and Lilian (Field) Griffith. He worked for GE in Linton where he retired from in June 1992. Pud also farmed when he wasn't at GE.
On Sept. 24, 1955 he married Shelby West.
In his spare time he enjoyed helping his boys on the farm, tinkering with antique tractors where he was a member of several Antique Tractor Clubs, and his morning visits with his friends at the coffee shop.
Pud was preceded in death by his parents; son: Garyl Griffith; brother: Dale Griffith
He is survived by his wife: Shelby Griffith; sons: Alan Griffith and wife Jamie of Lewis, Greg Griffith and wife Kelli of Lewis; grandchildren: Brooke Langford and husband Jason of Jasonville, Lucas Griffith of Alabama, Paige Wolf and husband Traver of Jasonville, Jessica Griffith and Kevin Harden of Terre Haute, Court Griffith and Brooke Collins of Jasonville, Curt Griffith of Jasonville; Seven great grandchildren; sister: Jacky Brady of Tampa, Fla.; sisters in law: Pat Griffith of Lewis, June Griffith of Pendleton ; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Service will be Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Sanders Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Wabash Valley.
