Interstate 69 work continues in eastern Greene County

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Workers with Milestone Contracting Co. were busy at work Wednesday morning at the State Road 445/State Road 45 junction in eastern Greene County as part of the Interstate 69 construction project. An interchange will be located at this intersection. This sector of the new interstate is expected to be open to traffic in 2014. The southern sector of the roadway -- running from the U.S. 231 junction to Evansville opened Nov. 19.

How far is the connecting road from the 445/45 interchange to I-69?

I am for I-69--just do not believe this was the best choice for connecting to I-69--makes much more sense to do it at Hwy 54--that was the original plan--apparently some lobbyist/politician lives in the area. By the way--I have a home in Greene County--just South of where I-69 crosses CR1250E. I could be on I-69 quickly with a interchange at Hwy54--as is--it may not save me any time getting to Bloomington.
