Vincennes Rivet scored 20 of the first 24 points as the host Lady Patriots cruised to a 57-17 victory over Bloomfield Thursday night in a non-conference high school girls basketball game at Ralph Holscher Gymnasium.
"We had trouble matching their intensity early," said BHS coach Chris Hitchcock, who's Lady Cardinals slipped to 2-3. "We got down early and had way too many turnovers for a young club."
Elena Weddle, Emily Bucher and Kari Schulte each had four points for the Lady Cardinals.
Kelsey Ivers had 16 points for Rivet.
"They are a solid basketball team," said Hitchcock.
There was no junior varsity game at the request of Rivet.
Bloomfield will play another varsity-only game at Dugger Saturday. Tip-off against Union is set for noon.
"We learned some lessons tonight that we can take to Dugger Saturday," said Hitchcock."
