A Vincennes couple sustained neck injuries -- but their son was left unharmed -- in a two-vehicle accident in the construction zone at the junction of State Roads 45 and 445 Thursday afternoon.
According to the Greene County Sheriff's Department, John V. Creamer and his wife Shannon, both 40, were treated and released by Indiana University Health Medical Center following the 3 p.m. accident.
The other drive, Gregory S. Wagler, 24, of Solsberry, was uninjured, said Deputy Ricardo L. Marques. Howeve, Wagner was checked out by emergency medical service paramedics at the scene.
According to the report by Marques, the accident occurred when Creamer's northbound 1998 Plymouth Voyager stopped on State Road 45, attempting to make a left turn into the Crossroads Diner.
A northbound 2004 Mack dump truck driven by Wagler was unable to stop in time, striking the rear of Creamer's vehicle.
Both Creamer and his wife complained of neck pain and were taken to IU Medical, though the couple later contacted police and informed them they were being released, per the report.
No estimates were immediately available on the amount of damage done to either vehicle. Nor was the name of the Creamer's son, a juvenile, immediately released by the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
According to the report, the Center Township Fire Department, the Greene County Ambulance Service and the Milestone road work crews all assisted in traffic control and rescue efforts.
