Wabash Valley Classic boys basketball tickets are on sale at the Shakamak High School athletic office.
Price for a season ticket is $20.
These tickets are good for each session of the four-day tourney -- Dec. 26-29. There will be 28 games involving 16 Wabash Valley Teams. Daily passes will be sold at the door for $7.
Greene County teams in the tournament are Shakamak vs. Owen Valley in game one at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Linton vs. Sullivan in the final game on day one at 8:30 p.m.
Other teams entered in the tournament are Marshall, Robinson, Casey-Westfield, Riverton Parke, Rockville, Northview, Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South, Turkey Run, Monrovia, South Vermillion, and
West Vigo. All of the games will be played at Terre Haute South High School.
These tickets will be on sale at the high school office until noon on Thursday, Dec. 20 and at all of Shakamak varsity boys games in December.
The WRV-Worthington fifth grade girls basketball team defeated Loogootee 14-7 Thursday night.
Mylee Campbell scored four points, Morgan Green had six and Bailey Wilson and Allison Taylor each scored two.
Also playing this season for Worthington is Bailey Sluder, Abby Kershaw, Brianna Blankenship and Aubrey Willis.
In high school boys basketball games recently, the White River Valley C-team split two games, defeating North Daviess 32-27 Thursday and losing to Bedford North Lawrence 44-33.
Against North Daviess, Bryce Spelts scored 11 points, Wes Baker had six, Tyler York four, Sam Kreiling three and Brad Clifford, Josh Jones, Trey English and Kyle Morrison each had two.
Against BNL, Spelts had 10 points, York seven, Baker five, Morrison, Clifford and Keith Barnett all scored three and Jones added two.
Tickets for the Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic boys basketball tournament at Terre Haute South will be available at Linton-Stockton High School.
A regular tourney pass is good for all 28 games on Dec. 26-29 at South.
Linton-Stockton athletic director Charlie Karazsia said that Miner fans can purchase tickets for $20.
Fans can see Lou Baker at the high school to purchase ducats. Tourney passes will be available at Linton-Stockton until Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Daily tickets ($7) and tourney passes ($20) will be available starting Dec. 26 at South.
The Miners will open play on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 8:30 p.m. against Sullivan.
The Union at Hutsonsville-Palestine, Ill. high school boys basketball game on Tuesday, Dec. 11 will start with the jv contest at 6:15 p.m.
Boys' HS BB game versus Hutsonville will be a 6:15 JV start.
The Dugger junior high girls basketball will play just one game on Tuesday against Washington Catholic at the Cardinals' request. The game will start at 6 p.m.
The Bloomfield at Union high school girls basketball game will be a varsity-only contest, starting at noon Saturday.
The Linton-Stockton eighth grade boys basketball won one and lost one game recently.
On Wednesday night, Vincennes Clark defeated the Miners 45-27.
Trey Passen had 13 points and Avery Gentry finished with six points and three rebounds.
Kendall Williams scored four points and Damian Turpin collected six rebounds to go with four points.
"Clark is a very solid team and plays extremely good defense," said Miner coach Darren Woodward.
The Miners improved 5-2 after a 47-36 victory over host Shakamak Thursday.
Josh Dieball, who was unavailable for the Clark game, finished with 17 points, four rebounds and six steals.
Williams added 10 points.
"I was very pleased with how we played," said Woodward. "This was probably our best game."
The Dugger vs. Linton-Stockton fifth and sixth grade boys basketball game on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Linton will now be a fifth grade-only game.
This is due to Dugger not having a sixth grade team.
The Bloomington North at White River Valley girls basketball game will now be played Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.
WRV also announced that the freshman boys basketball team has added a game with Shakamak.
It will take place on Monday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at WRV.
The Greene County Daily World encourages area sports youth coaches or parents and elementary and junior high school coaches to submit pictures of your teams for publication as well as your game results.
Pictures should include identification information about all players and coaches as well as any other info about the team's accomplishments.
Photos can be picked up after they are published.
Results, including first and last games and any information, can be sent to the same addresses.
Pictures can only be published one time per season.
Pictures should be at least 7 inches wide with a resolution of 250.

The Indiana Mojo, a 10U travel softball team comprised of girls from Monroe, Greene and Lawrence Counties, will be having try-outs for the 2013 softball season from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Teamwork, located at 2013 South Yost Ave. in Bloomington.
For those who make the team, practice will begin in early January and there will be approximately 10 tournaments throughout the spring and early summer within South Central Indiana.
To be eligible, you must be 10 years old or younger anytime during the 2013 calendar year.
We are especially looking for experienced pitchers.
