Ray C. Rash, 85, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday Dec. 1, 2012 at Core Nursing & Rehab in Bedford.
Born Oct. 30, 1927 in McDowell County, North Carolina the son of Walter and Virgie (West) Rash.
Ray was retired from the U.S. Navy serving twenty four years, he was also retired from the safety department at Crane. He was a member of the Tulip Church of God.
Surviving relatives include: his children, Toren (Karen) Rash of Bloomfield, Sean (Julie) Rash stationed in Nebraska; eight grandchildren, David (Amber) Rash of Dugger, Cory (Jennifer) Rash of Koleen, Matt (Amy) Rash of Grand Forks, North Dakota., Nathan Rash of Bloomfield, Hannah (Anthony) Price of Bloomfield, Steve (Kayla) Rash of Bloomington, Wyatt Campbell of Bloomfield and Brandon Rash of Nebraska; three great-grandchildren; and one sister Evelyn Tyo of Glenwood, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Rash, on April 25, 2011, one daughter Leilani Campbell, two brothers, one sister and his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 and 10 p.m. on Friday until the hour of service at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Jeff Rockey officiating. Burial will follow at Calvertville Cemetery.
