Leona Sue Burnette, 70, of Springville passed away Saturday December 1, 2012 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington.
She was born on May 24, 1942 in Greene County, Indiana the daughter of William Ray and Ona (Parsley) Rollins.
Leona worked at Indiana University, RCA, and Sarkes Tarzian, she retired in 1980. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Lawrence County ABATE.
Surviving relatives include her husband Raymond Doyle Burnette of Springville; five sons, James (Donna) Burnette Bloomington; Robert (Shelly) Burnette, of Springville; Michael Burnette of Lyons; Scott (Crystal)Burnette of Bloomfield; and Jerry (Amanda) Burnette of Newberry; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four brothers, Vernon Rollins, Ronnie Rollins, James Rollins and Bill Rollins and one sister, Brenda Hilderbrand.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Michael Cory Burnette and Kenneth Bryce Burnette; one sister Shelby Jean Rollins; two brothers, Ralph Eugene Rollins and Donald Ray Rollins; and her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Burial will follow at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery.
The family wishes all donations be made to the funeral home to help with final expences.
