A Martinsville man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly kicked in the back door of Main Street Gifts, at 76 North Main St., in downtown Linton.
Destiny Jedediah Moore, 21, faces a preliminary charge of burglary, a class C felony, and criminal mischief after he was arrested about 1 p.m. on Saturday.
According to a report issued Monday morning by the Linton Police Department Det. Paul Clark, Moore was observed by a witness kicking in the north door of the gift shop.
The witness drove to the LPD headquarters to report the 6:21 a.m. incident. While en route, the witness said Moore was observed walking east, according to Det. Clark.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the north door glass and the east door had been kicked in.
Police say entry was made.
"Officers and store owner were unable to determine if anything was missing, however, it appeared the store had been gone through," Det. Clark stated in a Monday afternoon news release.
Officers conducted a search of the building, but the suspect could not be located. He was found later in the day and arrested.
Moore is being held in the Greene County Jail on $10,000 surety bond or $1,000 cash.
Assisting in the case was LPD officers Nick Yingling and Jason Wilson.
