Lady Miners lose at home

Thursday, December 6, 2012

Linton-Stockton rallied but came up on the short end of a 42-33 score against visiting Clay City in a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference girls basketball game in Greene County Thursday night.

Clay City improved to 3-5, 1-2 in league play. The Lady Miners slipped to 0-7, 0-3.

"We dug ourselves too big of a hole," said Miner boss Brad McKinney. "But like in the Eastern game, we battled back and got back into the game.

"We were down 35-31 with less than three minutes to go but only scored two more points while they hit their free throws after we had to foul them. We had good shots, but just could not knock enough of them down."

Joie Gadberry had 12 points for the Lady Miners.

Clay City won the junior varsity game 27-20.
