Eastern Greene defeated visiting Linton-Stockton 35-26 in an eighth-grade boys basketball game Tuesday night.
The Miners slipped to 6-3.
Kendall Williams had five rebounds for Linton-Stockton. Tyler Meurer made 5 of 6 foul shots and finished with nine points and two steals.
Austin Allen had one point and two rebounds, Cody Corbin made one free throw and Avery Gentry collected five points and three rebounds.
Trey Passen had four points and two rebounds and Justin Rippy, Damian Turpin and Luke Wilson each had three points for the Miners.
"Eastern's defense is very solid and we did not handle it very well," said Miner coach Darren Woodward. "We also got killed on the boards and that just cannot happen. Our point guard led us in rebounding. When that happens, it's probably going to be a long night."
