WRV-Worthington splits two games

WRV-Worthington defeated host Eastern Greene 30-7 in a fifth grade boys basketball game Wednesday.

Trey Carpenter and Clayton Hoover each scored six points for the winners. John Clevenger scored four points, Tanner Denham three, Eli Byarley, Trever Dyer, Lance Dyer, Layne Baker and Braden Jackson each scored two and Blaine Gilstrap added one.

Cooper Banning, Hudson Fields and Jackson Robertson also played.

Worthington fell in the sixth grade game 45-15 as Kaeden Strosnider, Blake Wilson and Shaun Gibson all scored four points.

Dalton York added three.

Mason Stoner, Quintin Resler, Jarrett Holtsclaw, Trey Carpenter, Tanner Denham and Clayton Hoover also played.

On Thursday, the fifth graders defeated Carlisle 36-11.

Gilstrap had two points, Lance Dyer seven, Banning nine, Carpenter four, Denham five, Robertson three, Hoover four and Clevinger added two. Trever Dyer, Byarley, Baker, Jackson and Fields also played.

WRV won the sixth grade game 36-6 over Carlisle.

Gibson led with 15 points, York had seven, Quintin Resler six, Strosnider four, Wilson and Stoner both scored two and Holtsclaw also played.

The fifth graders are 4-2 and the sixth graders are 2-4.

Both teams will play Monday, Jan. 14 at Bloomfield.
