One man was taken to the hospital Friday after he was involved in a head-on collision -- with a tree, in eastern Greene County.
Jeremy Bowers, 25, Bloomfield, was eastbound, on Dec. 7, in a 1996 black Toyota on McVille Rd. near 11992 E. McVille Rd. when the crash occurred around 3:30 pm.
Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Jeffrey Brown responded to the scene and reported the Toyota ran off the roadway in a turn and collided with the tree head-on causing the front air bag to deploy.
It was raining at the time of the crash and the weather conditions included patchy fog.
The deputy reported that Bowers had been traveling at a high rate of speed.
Bowers was not known to have any insurance. He complained of pain to his neck and was transported by the Greene County Ambulance Service to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for further evaluation.
In addition to personnel from the sheriff's and ambulance departments, Beech Creek Township and the Indiana State Police also responded to the scene.
