The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one incident of breaking and entering, one title check, one follow-up investigation, one request for lifting assistance, one vehicle repossession, two medical/illness, one assist to another agency, one reckless driver, one theft of a bicycle, one welfare check/concern, one 911 prank/false call, one ordinance violation and two traffic stops.
* Dec. 8 -- David Ray Foster, 34, Linton, was arrested shortly after midnight after officers said they observed him walking in a field on 2nd St. SW between A and C streets. The police report states he was stumbling and having a difficult time staying on his feet. LPD Officer Michael Watts and Reserve Officer Rodney Bredeweg investigated and took Foster into custody for allegedly having marijuana in his right front pocket. Foster was transported and booked in to the Greene County Jail and released later the same day on $1,000 bond.
* Dec. 9 -- Officers responded to an accident involving two vehicles around 12:16 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 54 and 4th St. SE. One driver was stopped at the stoplight waiting to turn when another driver rear-ended his vehicle. The primary cause of the crash was following too closely. Total damage was estimated to be over $2500 but no injuries were reported. LPD Det. Josh Goodman was the investigating officer.
