Sharon E. Speer, 62, of Bloomfield was called to the Lord on December 12, 2012 after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
Sharon was born January 22, 1950 in Linton, Indiana to Dale and Margaret (Denman) Burch.
She was a graduate of Vincennes University and spent several years as a Home Health Aid. She attended New Horizon Church in Smithville. She was a loving wife and mother, but above all else she was "nana," not only to her grandchildren, but to several other children. She had a special place in her heart reserved just for them. She enjoyed spending time with each of her grandchildren, she was especially proud of their accomplishments in Boy Scouts, football and dance.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Stacey Speer, in April of 2011.
She leaves behind her husband Thomas, a son and daughter-in-law, James and Angela Speer, daughter Lori Speer, all of Bloomfield, and daughter Tina Speer of Kentucky, her grandchildren, JT, Sierra, Kelsie and Cheyann all of Bloomfield, brother and sister-in-law Randall and Diane Burch of Springville, sister and brother-in-law Aleeta and James Smith of Jasonville, nephews, Darren and Lori Burch of Bloomfield and Jason Malissa Speer of Switz City, niece Virgina Smith of Terre Haute.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Bloomfield Church of God, east of Bloomfield, and 10 a.m. on Tuesday until the hour of service at the Church.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Bloomfield Church of God with Pastors Richard Reed and William Oricks officiating. Interment will follow at Bays-Burch Cemetery.
