Born March 6, 1924 in Owen County, she was the daughter of Morton Harrison and Mary Frances (Ransford) Williams.
Luvina worked for RCA for 27 years and also for Sarkes Tarzain. She worked for the Owen County Extension Office as well as Hutchens Sales and Service in Calvertville.
She was a member of the Tulip Church of God, attended Purdue University, and was an active member of the Republican Party where she served as precinct committeeman in Highland Township in Greene County.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Leanna Freeman of Spencer; one sister, Trillis Warner of Cataract; her grandchildren, Kelly Maners, Leland Hutchens Jr., Gary Freeman Jr., Shannon Carter, Tracy Roberts, Rodney Freeman and Travis Hutchens; and eighteen great, grandchildren.
She married Medus Eugene Hutchens on June 11, 1948 who preceded her in death on October 8, 1987. She is also preceded in death by one son, Leland E. Hutchens Sr., four sisters, Juanita Shepherd, Wandlee Bonnewell, Esther Ruth Davis and Lois Williams and one brother, Junior Williams.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at the Tulip Church of God in rural Bloomfield with Rev. Jeff Rockey officiating. Interment will follow in Calvertville cemetery.
Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield and from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the church.
