Richard O. House, 83, of Linton, passed away at 6:34 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at his residence in Linton.

He was born in Terre Haute on Nov. 8, 1929, the son of Isaac House II and Bertha I. (Bryant) House.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a High Line Worker with IBEW Electric Union #1393 and Electricians Local Union #725. He retired from Crane in 1990 as an electrician.

He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton.

Survivors include his wife, whom he married on July 3, 1950, Phyllis (Gabbard) House of Linton; three daughters, Linda Kay (Poe) House of Springfield, MO, Vicki (Kevin) Bitz of Linton, and Tami (Tony) Jerrell of Linton; a brother, Nick (Dixie) House of Linton; five grandchildren, Scott (Meghan) McKisson, Brittney (Justin) Vest, Brandon Jerrell, Sean Bitz, and Brady Jerrell; and three great-grandchildren, Drake and Claire McKisson, and Devin Vest.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Todd Glen Poe; three sisters, Doris Belcher, Barbara Rentch, & Evelyn Hardiman; and two brothers, James D. House and Isaac "Ike" House.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton and Rev.'s Warren Allen and Dean Hartman officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
