He was born May 20, 1958 in Bloomington to Morris, Sr. and Evelyn Skirvin Stivers.
He graduated from Bloomington High School North in 1977 and served in the Indiana National Guard. He worked at Coca Cola in Bloomington for several years and at Carlisle Prison as a guard for 15 years. He was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church in Linton.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lee Stivers and his former wife, Julie D. Stivers.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his son Morris Owen, III (Sara Jane) Stivers, and grandson Wyatt to be born in February; his parents Morris, Sr. and Evelyn Stivers of Solsberry; grandmother Emma Naylor Skirvin of Spencer; two sisters, Audrey Mullis of Solsberry and Robin Lawson of Bedford, IN; two brothers, Tim (Debbie) Stivers of Linton and Dan Stivers of Springville; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Stanford Baptist Church in Stanford, IN.
Funeral service will be at 2 at the church with interment following in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
