She was born July 13, 1915, in Owen County, to Kenneth and Nota Bessie (Shelburn) Phillips.
She attended the Linton First Christian Church. She had worked at Tressler's Five & Dime Store, Bob & Gayles Regal Store, and owned and operated the Triangle Restaurant, all in Worthington.
Gerri is survived by her daughter Yola (Bob) Jennings, Worthington; sister, Mary Jo (Charles) Smith, Mooresville; seven grandchildren, Debra (Glen) Cundiff, Worthington; Thomas (Judy) Smith, Coal City; Clint Booher, Worthington; Travis (Yvonne) Booher, Freedom; Forest Booher, Burlington, KY; Toby White, Worthington, Howard Earl, Terre Haute; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Clarence "Bud" White, second husband, John Henry Hoagland, third husband, Robert Mitchell; daughter, Donna Earl; one grandson and one great grandson; three sisters, Wilma Smith, Lelah Gee and Gretchen Pershing; two brothers, Wilson and Gussie Phillips.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Memorial may be given to Owen County Foundation or your favorite charity.
