Leoka Sue Manis

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

Leoka Sue Manis, 87, went to be with her Lord on Jan. 1, 2013.

Sue was born June 29, 1925 to parents, Edwin and Leona (Byers) Hostettler in Greene County.

She was a faithful member of Scotland Full Gospel Church.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; daughter, Tony Dee Moore; sister, and brother-in-law Marcell and Gib Ammer; brother-in-law, Harold Manis; niece Sherry and her husband Tom Medina. One can only imagine the joyous reunions that are taking place in Heaven as Sue sees loved ones she missed greatly, especially her daughter, Tony Dee.

Sue is survived be her three grandchildren; Cindy English of Indianapolis, Mark (Candice) Moore of Newburgh and Kristi Hornick of Loveland, Col.; six grandchildren, Briana, Garrett, Brycen, Keira, Jake and Ashton; brother-in-law Charlie Manis and his wife Bobbie; sister-in-law Edna Manis of Doans; great nieces Delores Manis of Terre Haute, Diana (Leonard) Carter and Janet Manis of Doans.

A self-described tomboy, Sue enjoyed spending time with her father helping in various jobs around the family farm and was a faithful and supportive wife. Sue will be remembered as a giver of great hugs, of having a wonderful twinkle in her eyes, for her tremendous love of God and family. Sue's life knew many hardships, but her faith was always prevalent. Sue, or "mamaw" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, "Auntie Sue" to other family members and "Dumpy" to friends, will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be conducted from 10 a.m. to noon with a funeral service following on Friday, Jan. 4 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Ron Helderman officiating.

Burial will follow at Scotland Cemetery.
