The first baby born at Greene County General Hospital in 2013 entered the world Thursday at 1:04 p.m.

Raedyn Jo Nail was born to Jamie and Brian Nail, of Switz City. She was 8 pounds and 9 ounces, and 21 inches long.

"I lost eight pounds during my pregnancy, so I wasn't that big by the end. We were expecting about a 6 pound baby," Nail said.

Nail said Raedyn's original due date was Jan. 1, but she did not go into labor until she was induced Wednesday evening. She was in labor for a total of 20 hours and Raedyn was delivered by Dr. Bryan Cox.

"I feel relieved. I'm tired, but I'm looking forward to many more years of being tired," Nail added, smiling at her daughter.

Nail said her baby girl was beautiful and had full lips. She was surprised Raedyn looked almost identical to her 3D ultrasound photo.

"She has a big nose, but it's a cute nose," Nail said with a smile.

Raedyn has a big brother, Austin, who is almost 5-years-old, and Nail said she hopes her little boy will be a good helper when the new baby comes home.

"He hasn't really been around too many babies. I will assign him some tasks so he can feel helpful," Nail said.
