* Jan. 7 -- Harley J. Shields, 20, Linton, was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of theft, a class D felony, and was being held on $4,000 bond.

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one fraud and one follow-up investigation, one civil complaint, one accident with property damage, one funeral escort, four medical/illness, one animal complaint, one message delivery, three arrests -- wanted on warrants, one recovered vehicle or property, one battery and 11 traffic stops.
* Jan. 4 -- LPD Cpl. Paul Clark responded to the scene of a crash involving two vehicles at 11:10 p.m. on SE Vincennes St. about 150 feet west of SE 10th St. The driver of a white 2005 Ford Focus, Morgan M. Burks, 21, of Dugger, was traveling westbound on Vincennes St. when she hit a parked car. The police report stated she was trying to use her cell phone when she drove across both lanes of the road and crashed into another vehicle that was parked along the curb facing east on the south side of the road. No injuries were reported but total damage due to the crash was estimated between $5-10,000. LPD Det. Josh Goodman assisted on the scene.
* Jan. 7 -- LPD Sgt. Chad E. Crynes arrested Harley J. Shields, 20, Linton, around 10 p.m. Shields is suspected of class D felony theft and was wanted on a warrant. Crynes located Shields at his residence where he was taken into custody without incident then transported to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $4,000.
