He was born in Washington, Ind., on Sept. 29, 1950, the son of Irven Dale & Helen Jane (Aishe) Myers. Steve was blessed with a good quality of life during his three years with stage four cancer, blessing all with his strong faith in God and positive attitude. He was raised in Odon, Ind., graduating from Odon High School in 1968. He attended Vincennes University, Indiana University, and graduated from Milligan College. He was a member of the Army National Guard.
Steve worked in the banking and accounting industries for many years, with his latest job as a commercial loan analyst with Bloomfield State Bank. He had previously worked as a Comptroller for many corporations.
He was presently a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church, and previously had memberships at the Christian churches of Odon, Ellettsville, Southport Heights, Sherwood Oaks in Bloomington, and Linton. Steve was inexpressively grateful for all the prayers, love, and support, from his family, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
Survivors include his wife, PJ (Patti Jo Vienazindis) Myers of Linton whom he married on July 4, 1994, his father of Linton and mother of Odon, a very special aunt, Hilda Aishe of Lebanon, a son, Jason P. Myers of California, two daughters, Lisa (John) Zurcher of Terre Haute and Stephanie (Anthony) Owens of Greenwood, two step-sons, Stephen (Emily) Weathers of Cincinnati, Ohio and Nathan (Heather) Weathers of Bruceville, a step-daughter, Christy LeeAnn (Shawn) Vande Linde of Atascadero, California, sister, Myra Lynn (Christopher) McCart of Punta Gorda, Fla., parents of Stacy (Joel) Hinman and James McCart, another sister, Jennifer Lynn Myers of Linton, a brother, Aaron D. Myers of Linton, eight grandchildren, Noah, Libby, and Isaiah Zurcher, Aaliyah Owens, Marcy Weathers, Abigale Weathers, Elaina Morgan, and Garrison Langley, and another Zurcher grandchild expected in June.
Funeral service will be held at Linton First Christian Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 with Dale Wise, Archie Ellett, and Warren Shake officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Visitation will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial donations can be made to Cookson Hills Christian Ministries for children, an extensive children's home and ministry complex, where Steve served for many years. Donations can be made through the funeral home.
