Lyons Council approves salary ordinance for 2013

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

LYONS -- The Lyons Town Council approved their salary ordinance for 2013, in order to include two new employees, during the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday evening.

Other than adding the new personnel who work in the town's water and sewage utility services, no changes were made in pay rates.

Town Clerk-Treasurer Kim Flynn submitted a conflict of interest statement, and the council, as in the past, approved two contracts with the Washington Township Trustee for fire protection and use of the town's park.

In utility-related business, a mobile chlorine reader and a valve box locator will be purchased in order to make it easier to locate meters underground and under blankets of snow.

At the town's water plant, a problem surfaced with some backwash valves not closing properly, but the company responsible has agreed to replace the valves free of charge. Also, a flow test is being done on a water well that is currently not in use.

The next meeting of the council will be at 6 p.m. on Feb. 12.

Thank you John

cmfceo, you need a life! John has always been nothing but helpful and knowledgeable in his comments and I appreciate that. What I have learned about John is, if he doesn't know you won't hear from him but if he knows he will share his knowledge. Maybe you should take

some notes.
