The Linton Police Department's activity log for Wednesday included one custody dispute or exchange, one accident with property damage, one funeral escort, one lost and found, one medical/illness, one alarm, two assists to other agencies, one theft, two messages delivered, one welfare check or concern, one fingerprint for a gun permit, one arrest - wanted on a warrant, and three traffic stops.
* Jan. 9 -- Charles L. Starnes, 47, Linton, was arrested by LPD Cpl. Paul Clark, assisted by Det. Josh Goodman, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Officers were aware of a warrant out for Starnes issued on a preliminary charge of battery with injury to a medical provider, a class D felony, filed in Greene Circuit Court in December. Starnes was located at his residence, taken into custody without incident and transported to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $4,000.
