Vennetta Templeton, age 100 of Carmel, formerly of Linton, departed this life and went to spend eternity with her Savior Jesus on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Summer Trace Retirement Home in Carmel. She was born in Greene County on March 20, 1912, the daughter of John and Alma (Wright) Jerrels. She was the wife of Harold W. Templeton for 60 years. He preceded her on March 24, 1992. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Otterbein Methodist Church, and later the Linton First United Methodist Church, and the Columbian #140 Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years, all of Linton.

She is survived by a son, Jack W. (Ernestine) Templeton of Carmel, one daughter, Sharon (Dick) Smoot of Carmel, a daughter-in-law, Patty Templeton of McMurry, PA, six grandchildren, Maureen Rentz, Bradley Templeton, Paul Templeton, Steve Templeton, Mark Templeton, and Anne Smoot, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold W. Templeton, her son, Ronald Templeton, and her brother, James Jerrels.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Carmel ManorCare at Summer Trace for three years of loving care.
