EDWARDSPORT -- Police from several agencies are looking for a man who fled during a traffic stop and may be armed.
On Friday night, Edwardsport Marshal's Office Deputies Kevin Abrams and Kent Van Wey stopped a car at State Road 67 and Jackson St. after noticing the license plate was obstructed.
Chelsie Davis of Monroe City was driving the car and it was occupied by her cousin, passenger Brandon Crowe of Washington.
Crowe immediately fled on foot wearing all dark colors and camouflage clothing. He eluded capture after a short foot pursuit.
Officers then found a loaded rifle under a baby seat in the vehicle.
Units from the Marshal's Office were assisted in the search for Crowe by the Bicknell Police Department, the Indiana State Police and the Knox County Sheriff's Department.
A Bicknell officer later pursued Crowe again. He had obtained a four-wheeler, but Crowe again eluded capture.
Davis was arrested on a preliminary charge of assisting a criminal and an additional warrant is being sought for Crowe.
