Fettig scores 20 in his return

Sunday, January 20, 2013

In his first appearance of 2013, Ethan Fettig scored 20 points as Union lost to host Wood Memorial 76-37 in a high school boys basketball game in Oakland City Saturday night.

Fettig returned after having missed six games.

"It was good to have Ethan back," said Union coach Chip Langley. "He showed great leadership."

The rest of the team combined to score 17 points as Union's losing streak reached 17 games.

"We still struggled with turnovers," said Langley. "We also struggled with giving Wood Memorial second and third shots."

WM, who jumped out to a 22-6 lead after eight minutes, was led in scoring by Conner Mowery, who hit four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 22 points. The Trojans improved to 4-11.

"They shot well and kept us out of the paint," said Langley.

The Bulldogs 0-12) will play at Linton-Stockton Tuesday.
