Linton sixth takes second in weekend tourney

The Linton-Stockton Elementary School sixth grade boys basketball team took home a second place finish in a tournament at Bloomfield on Saturday.

In their opening contest the Miners defeated Eastern Greene 39-34.

Evan Slover led Linton-Stockton with 14 while Jaden Chambers added nine, Sammy Robbins eight, Silas Robbins five and Dane Witty three.

Bloomfield defeated WRV 47-28 in the other semifinal.

Addison Wall made five 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead WRV. Caleb Fish and Brandon Wood each scored two points and Noah Walton added one.

In the championship game the Miners fell to host Bloomfield 54-32.

Chambers led L-S with 14 while Sammy Robbins added six points. Jalen Boyl and Justin Riggleman finished with three points each while Slover, Jacob Goodwin and Chase Howard all added two each.

Eastern Greene took third place with a 47-13 victory.

Wall scored seven points, Fish two and Joe Records added four.
