Lakers roll past West Vigo

The Shakamak Lakers edged closer to the .500 mark after a 71-51 win over visiting West Vigo Saturday night at Jasonville.

Brodie Crowe poured in 21 points, Brandon Morin 17 and Dylan Collins 12 as the Lakers improved to 7-8 on the year.

Shakamak took control in the first quarter and never looked back as they posted a 21-14 lead at the first stop, followed with a 34-27 edge at the half and nearly doubled the Vikings 50-32 at the third quarter break.

Crowe and Collins continued to show opponents an outside shooting threat by nailing three treys each.

Shakamak also got eight points from Patrick Green and Jeff Bessling, three from Kyle Schubla and two from Braden Cox.

The Lakers return to action Friday when they travel to Barr-Reeve for a 6 p.m. non-conference contest at Montgomery before playing at North Central Saturday.
