Three departments battled Monday morning house fire in eastern Greene County

Monday, January 21, 2013

EASTERN HEIGHTS ---- Three area fire departments responded to a mobile home fire in eastern Greene County Monday morning.

Center Fire Department had units on the scene of the 9:35 a.m. fire, located at 1946 N. Lawrence Hollow Drive in rural Bloomfield, in less than five minutes, according to Center Fire Department Fire Chief Jeremy Inman.

Mutual aid was received from Eastern Fire Department and Van Buren Fire Department.

"The fire gutted the mobile home and only a few contents were saved," Inman said. "The fire is still under investigation, but is believed to be caused by an electrical problem."

Home owner Travis Wolfe had already exited the residence before fire units arrived, according to Inman.

Inman said he appreciated the assistance from Eastern and Van Buren fire departments on a very cold, sub-freezing day.

No firefighters were injured.
