Linton man cited in crash, OVWI charges pending

Friday, January 25, 2013

Corey C. Robison, 39, Linton, wound up in jail following a crash late Thursday involving two vehicles. Robison is accused of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and charges are pending.

The accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Thursday on N. Main St. in Linton at the intersection of NW F St.

Patrolman Paul Clark of the Linton Police Department responded and was on the scene within three minutes after the call came in. Indiana State Police Troopers Richard Klun and M. Feese also responded.

One driver, Bryan K. Owen, 49, of Linton, was northbound on Main St. in a black 1998 Ford Ranger truck when he saw Robison pull into his path as Owen approached F St. NW. Owen was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.

Robison was driving a white 1993 Chevrolet van.

Officer Clark reported no injuries, but estimated property damage amounted to $2,500-5,000.

When officers spoke to the drivers, they suspected Robison was intoxicated.

According to the Clark's police report, Robison failed standard field sobriety tests (SFST) and was transported to the Greene County Jail by Trooper Klun.

Robison allegedly failed SFST at the jail and registered a .15 percent BAC (blood-alcohol concentration) on a DataMaster test.

Robison was booked into the jail on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor with bond set at $4,000 surety or $400 cash.

Pending until they can potentially charge him with additional offenses, I would suspect.

...And anything .15 or higher is a DUI, felony. Not an OVWI which is a misdeamnor, I do believe.
