BREAKING NEWS: Heavy storm forces closure of State Road 43 in eastern Greene County to clean up damage

A strong line of storms moved their Greene County early Wednesday producing downed trees and power lines and casing some structural damage.

At 2:30 a.m., the Greene County Sheriff's Department reported heavy structural damage to several residences on State Road 43 from Solsberry to Hendricksville in eastern Greene County, according to a prepared news release from Indiana State Police District 33 Public Information Officer Sgt. Curt Durnil.

"This has resulted in heavy debris in the roadway including trees and power lines being down at this time," Durnil stated. "State Road 43 will be closed from Solsberry to Hendricksville until further notice. Emergency crews are en route to survey the damage. No injuries are reported at this time."
