Bulldogs lose road game

Union was outscored 38-22 in the second half as the Bulldogs lost to Northeast School Corporation rival North Central 61-43 in a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference high school boys basketball game Friday night at Farmersburg.

Union lost its 22nd consecutive, slipping to 0-17 this season. They are 0-6 in the SWIAC.

Zac Birdsong hit four 3-pointers to account for his 12 points, which paced UHS.

Austin Robertson added 10 points.

North Central, who improved to 6-10, 1-6 in league play, was led by the 21 points of Andrew Nikirk. He made three 3-pointers and was 4 of 4 at the foul line.

Nick Stucker added nine points and Gavin Stanifer eight as eight different Thunderbirds scored.

Union will play another road game Saturday (tonight) at Riverton Parke and then will host North Daviess in a conference game on Thursday, Feb. 7.
