The Linton Police Department's activity log for Friday through Sunday included two follow-up investigations, two requests for information, one for lifting assistance, one assist to the utility department after hours, two custody disputes or exchanges, three drug investigations, one vehicle repossession, one alcohol-related incident, one funeral escort, four medical/illness runs, one medical/extraction, one fight, one report of vandalism, three accidents with property damage, three alarms, two complaints about animals, one suspicious vehicle or person, two assists to other agencies, one possibly intoxicated driver, three extra patrols, five thefts reported, one fireworks incident, two welfare checks or concerns, one missing person - adult, one fingerprint for a gun permit, three domestic disputes, one battery and five traffic stops.

* July 4 -- LPD Officer Mike Harroll was dispatched to a rear-end accident involving two vehicles on State Road 54 about 300 feet west of Winters Drive at approximately 11:14 p.m. Thursday. LPD Officer Chad Crynes assisted on the scene. Trenton B. Brinegar, 17, Bloomfield, was westbound on the highway in a 2010 Kia traveling behind a 1999 Mercury sable operated by Herbert L. Piker, 43, of Linton. According to the police report, the cause of the crash was following too closely. Brinegar said he didn't know that a vehicle had stopped in front of him and when he hit the rear of Piker's car, it knocked Piker's hat and glass off of his head. He complained of neck pain but refused an ambulance and was considering taking himself to a hospital. His vehicle's rear bumper and trunk was damaged. Brinegar's vehicle received minor dents and scratches.
