A Jasonville man was arrested on felony charges after a fatal wreck in Owen County Sunday.
Cory Deschamp, 22, of Jasonville was arrested for causing death when operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a class C felony; and causing serious bodily injury when operating a motor vehicle, a class D felony, after involvement in a wreck on Sunday morning.
Owen County dispatch received a call Sunday indicating a two vehicle accident occurred about one mile south of Spencer on U.S. 231 South. Upon arriving at the scene officers found two subjects trapped in one of the vehicles.
The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene and a passenger was airlifted to Methodist hospital in Indianapolis.
According to police, Deschamp refused treatment and was taken to Bloomington Hospital for a blood draw. He was booked into Owen County Jail at 10:48 a.m. Sunday, and bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety.
His initial hearing was at 1 p.m. Monday, and according to a jail officer he was in the process of bonding out Monday afternoon.
