Thursday, January 2, 2014

Greg Eaton
A longtime Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) Captain/Shift Supervisor is now keeping watch over the entire physical plant.

Greene County native Greg Eaton has advanced to Physical Plant Director at the maximum-security facility.

Eaton began his career as a Correctional Officer in 1993 and was promoted through the custody ranks to Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain. He also served on the WVCF Emergency Squad. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Superintendent Richard Brown said, "Greg is a strong leader who knows how to motivate and get results. I know he will work hard to keep the facility in top shape!"

Eaton said he welcomes the challenge of maintaining the facilities 28 buildings, including 12 offender housing units, security fencing, electronic surveillance, roads, vehicles and communication systems.

"It's like a small city and I take its upkeep, crucial to our safety and security very seriously," said Eaton.

He supervises a maintenance crew totaling 25 who in turn oversee nearly 30 offender workers.
