Breaking News: Level 1 Travel Advisory issued for Greene County effective until Tuesday at 5 pm

BLOOMFIELD -- At 4:30 p.m., Monday, the Greene County Commissioners issued a Level 1 Travel Advisory effective immediately until 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 17.

A Level 1 Travel Advisory means that routine travel activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.

Greene County Commissioners President Nathan Abrams added to the advisory, "Travel at your own risk."

The heaviest amounts of snowfall appear to have fallen on the eastern portion of Greene County, with reports of the heaviest amounts south of State Road 54.

Greene County Emergency Management Director Roger Axe said a Level One is the least restrictive and is listed as follows on the Greene County Emergency Management Agency website:

The lowest level of local travel advisory means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.

Motorists are advised to travel at their own risk.
