Financial facts about the current Town of Bloomfield Clerk-Treasurer's office...

Based on the State of Indiana Gateway Employee Compensation Report for 2014, the following positions are funded as follows:

Town Clerk-Treasurer (Sondra Thompson) -- $42,789.60 per year

Sanitation Clerk (Leairra Thompson) -- $32,112.00 per year

PM & Accounts Payable (Gavin Thompson) -- $21,172.00 per year

The above salaries total over $96,000 to one family. According to the 2010 Census Statistics, the Town of Bloomfield has only 2,405 residents. So every resident (man, woman and child) are paying nearly $40 per year, per person for just the clerical part of the operation of the Town. It appears that those salaries do not include health insurance, Public Employee Retirement and longevity benefits. So the real dollar amount is well over $100,000 plus per year.

The current hours of operation for the Town Hall are 8:00am to 4:00 pm, however, it appears the Town Hall is closed one hour for lunch each day.

So what happens if Teressa Smith is elected Bloomfield Town Clerk-Treasurer?

Town Hall office hours will be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, NO CLOSING FOR LUNCH!

The clerical salaries will be evaluated and reduced a minimum of at least $20,000 per year savings to the Town. This will allow for those dollars to be spent on the many other needs of the Town of Bloomfield, street paving, sewer replacement, etc.
