Purdue Extension holds Healthy Haying and Grazing Workshop
Purdue Extension along with the partnership of the NRCS, and the Greene County Soil and Water organized a Healthy Haying and Grazing Workshop on Friday October 23rd. The workshop focused on not only pasture quality, but animal health as well. In total we had a count of 38 people at our workshop. The workshop was located at a local cattle farmer's homestead in Bloomfield Indiana; Steve Schantz was gracious enough to open up his homestead to hold the event. We had three great guest speakers that we would like to recognize and thank they were Dr. Grant Burcham, Dr. Ron Lemenager, and Victor Shelton who conducted the pasture walk along with landowner Steve Schantz. We would also like to thank and recognize our sponsors of the workshop. Our sponsors consisted of Worthington DuPont Pioneer, Reece Booher- Beck's Hybrids, Jerald Rhodes-Byron Seeds, Crowe Farm Equipment, Bloomfield REMC, Steve Shantz, Larry Jerrells, Jane Shonk, William and Kathy Drogich, and Prairie Chapel Methodist Church.
