Bloomfield blanks Golden Arrows in tennis
BLOOMFIELD -- The Cardinals snapped a long losing streak Tuesday night in the best way possible:
They blanked the visiting Sullivan Golden Arrows 5-zip for their third win of the season. Sullivan only won three games in the match. Bloomfield coach Mike Canty said the Cards “picked up a much needed win” to celebrate Senior Night.
Turner Royal (B) romped over Kegan Meng in the No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 6-0
Wyatt McIntosh (B) aced Patrick Condor 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 singles.
Gage Lowry (B) won No. 3 singles match by default. Canty said Sullivan lacked a third singles player.
Graysen Medina and Peyton Davis (B) pulverized Jared Couch and Nick Jones 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles match. Canty noted Medina and Davis are playing together again.
The No. 2 doubles match saw Patrick Beard and Donovan Cosgrove (B) trounce Brayden Coyle and Nolan Gettinger 6-1, 6-0. Canty said Cosgrove and Beard, the team’s only seniors, were honored at the match.
Bloomfield will play tonight and tomorrow in the Southwest Indiana Athletic Conference match at Linton.
