Bloomfield tames the Lady Mustangs on the road

Bloomfield survived two squeakers Thursday night, then won the third set easily to triumph over Edgewood in volleyball.

The Lady Cardinals (10-11) defeated Edgewood (2-18) 25-21, 26-24, 25-13. Bloomfield got a powerful one-two punch from Malea Toon and Elizabeth Combs as they smashed 13 and 12 kills, respectively. Toon led the team with five blocks.

Hayley England and Kylee Shelton led the defense with 13 digs apiece. Shelton led the team with 14 service points and three aces.

Bloomfield next plays at 6:00 p.m. Monday when the Lady Cards travel to South Knox.
