Lonnie Ray
Lonnie Gene Ray, 70, of Bloomfield passed away Nov. 22 at home with his family by his side.
Born Dec. 1, 1946 in Linton, the son of James Franklin and Gladys (Crowe) Ray. He married Janice (Ramsey) on May 29, 1969.
Lonnie worked at RCA, Wetterau Foods, he was a 1965 graduate of Eastern Greene High School, he operated Ray’s Towing and worked at Carmichael’s Welding. He was a member of the Solsberry Masonic Lodge 411, he enjoyed bailing hay and going to farm sales with his dear friends Jim Holmes and Paul (Bucky) Cullison. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, working around his farm. Lonnie never knew a stranger and was willing to help anyone out, he always had a smile on his face.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Janice; children, Tony (Dorree) Ray, Tammy Ray, Tracey (Thomas) Burks; his grandchildren, Brandon Rollins (Amber Wood), Courtney Lewis (Whitley Phillips), Makenzie Ray, Brooke Sternik, Joey Sternik, Paige Ray, Brady Burks, Gage Ray; his great-grandchildren, Makaia Magruder, Zaylen Magruder, Brealeigh Rollins and another due in May of 2018; a brother, Marcus (Debi) Ray; sister-in-law, Nancy Ramsey; brother-in-law, David (Renee) Ramsey; nieces and nephews, Shannon (Bobby) Young, Lisa (John) Saunders, Brent Ray, Shawn Ray, Scott Ramsey, Susan (Craig) Wittmer, Abe Ramsey; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Elsie and Roscoe; uncles, Delano Crowe and Robert Ray; and a brother-in-law, Larry Ramsey.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m., and noon Thursday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
