Jemima (Jyme) Jo Bucher

Jemima (Jyme) Jo Bucher, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away Jan. 11, 2018 at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born May 5, 1940 in Linton, and was the daughter of Earl and Fannie (Ockerman) Lowder.

Jyme was a 1958 graduate of Bloomfield High School, and a graduate of ISU with a degree in Vocational Home Economics. She taught at L&M for four years and later taught at Bloomfield High School for 22 years. Jyme was also a member of the Ore Branch Church of Christ.

Jyme is survived by her husband, Jack Bucher, whom she married on Aug. 3, 1965; three sons, Adam (Laura) Bucher of Bloomfield, Paul (Karen Evans) Bucher of Bloomington, and John (Kylee) Bucher of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren, Meaghan (Dace) Hartman of Godfrey, Ill., Kelsey (Miles) Wood of Urbandale, Iowa, Caleb (Amber) Bucher, Logan Bucher, Emily Bucher, Brooklyn Bucher, Brianna Bucher, and Bristol Bucher all of Bloomfield; two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Jedidiah Wood of Urbandale, Iowa; a brother, Walter (Brenda) Lowder of Bloomfield; and nieces and nephews.

Jyme was preceded in death by brother, Danny Earl Lowder and her parents.

Friends may call from noon until the beginning of services at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Bloomfield.

The family wishes any donations be made to Antioch Cemetery or Grandview Cemetery in Jyme’s name.
