Commissioners declare travel advisory

Saturday, March 31, 2018

As of 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, the president of the Greene County Board of Commissioners has declared a Level One Travel Advisory for roads in Greene County until further notice.

According to the Department of Homeland Security's County Travel Status map, a Travel Advisory is "The lowest level of local travel advisory, means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas."

This declaration comes along with continued flood warnings for Greene County and other areas from the National Weather Service in areas along rivers and some roads after a recent prolonged rainfall, in addition to high winds that may cause hazardous driving conditions for high-profile vehicles, a predicted cold front in the evening and possible snowfall Sunday evening.
