Brent Murray with the City of Linton announced widespread outages in the area due to Thursday’s stormy weather.

Murray said the city is aware of the outages and crews are working on getting power restored as quickly as possible.

Murray added some customers may be without power until Friday evening, depending on weather conditions.

In Linton, the Twin Rivers Building Trades workshop suffered damage when portions of the roof lifted, with one roof panel flipped over and another separating completely and landing to the side of the building.

UDWI REMC has reported more than 1,300 customers are without power as of 5 p.m.
